Description
This is the shot from Dead Horse Festival that I was covering. The band playing is "Bodies in the Gears (of the Apparatus)". The guy in the middle have such a renaissance(or maybe earlier) look, that I couldnt help, but show it here.

Your judgement is too harsh, check out my other work
www.doughmag.com / www.genesm.com
and then talk to me band photography.

It's not easy to do a pic like this, I suppose it was some hardcore/punk fest with no stage and no special lights in the scene, so it's an enviroment not friendly for a photo. This one catches the raw atmosphere (I love the colours).
I like shots of crowd on the concerts- its great to look at them after the gig and see all those peoples faces (grimaces) and poses. The guy in the middle is great

Well, it's because of the cold look of this photography.
I wanted to give +3 or +4 to this picture. But, whatever, in fact it looks very well done. I hate this photography, but for the atmosphere and the feeling, i'll give +7. Professional shot.
I only hope that we won't have to read more heavy comments like the ones before.
Tilt.

about the heavy comments: all i want to say to you gene, is that not all people are used to voting and mistakes might happen......and not all people take art as seriously as probably you and i and a few others do.

ps: darkxsnih!, you absolutely right on spot! Caravagio it is.

the people in the background are cold and severe. no expressions or anything.
the band has a wild, tormented state... they are really moving.
and in the middle of the two, there's this guy who's totally calm and getting something out of it --- feeling it.
everyone else is performing or viewing... this guy is making it his own.
maybe that makes sense.

This is captured, and cropped, in the best photo-journalistic styling. If you haven't tried to sell this one I would suggest giving it a go. It reminds me of the type of photo the British are so fond of publishing. I thing you could have a classic here. Good luck with it.
